Ricochet by Ken Walker
Left
A spark of hope, the immergence of a better tomorrow
Right
A seed of doubt worms its way into the fabric of my truth
Up
A study of history, the revelation this soon shall pass
Down
Strength of conviction wanes, lost to the unreal what ifs
Again, Left
The ricochet of hope, the immergence of a better tomorrow
Artist Note - "This is an example of life imitating art. I created this this last night [01/01/2022] before I went to bed. As usually, I woke up this morning [01/02/2022] to take a walk. As usually, I make a choice Left or Right - each a completely different experience and destination. I chose Left - as it would turn out the better choice. At the end of our street, 2 policeman in full swat gear were blocking the entryway. With no explanation they allowed me to continue on. I got about 2 blocks when I could see more police vehicles including a SWAT car. "Ok this isn't good". I approached a community officer and asked him what was going on - he didn't have too much to tell me other than there was a man held up in his residence with a weapon and they were setting up a perimeter to confront the individual ON MY STREET. I hurried back to the first officers there and they said I shouldn't go back because I could be caught in a CROSSFIRE of bullets. Great. I managed to get back to my condo the back way to warn my daughter who was in bed when I originally left. I had to warn her - last thing I want is for her to be awoken by gunfire. The SWAT team took over an hour to get the person so come out peacefully. All is well. What a way to kick off the new year and on our quiet street too"

Wonderful visual, Ken. Wonderful title ! in view of your amazing Story, and, Survival -- that 'spark' in you always finds the HOPE, and today, the proof, b/c, all's well that ends well. I am so thankful ! The geometrics and palette are calming, exciting, all at once: Kudos, (stay safe), f.v.......VIVA

Thankful things worked out - I appreciate your eye here. I wanted to pick a muted - calming color to bring balance to the excited lines. That you noticed - success!
