Title
GO - Tremors in GREY
Artist
Ken Walker
Medium
Digital Art - Digital Painting
Description
Continuation of the original image GO and the concept of letting GO, the movement into the future. This one encapsulating the idea of being aware of the vibrations coming from one's bright future - listening and waiting in anticipation as that future draws nearer. This is dedicated to my dearest friend VIVA, who continues to inspire me (and so many others), both personally and artistically. This variant in GREY.
Tremors by Ken Walker
Quivering
movement, each an anticipation, embracing
the dream. Moment by moment
sensation involuntary passes into the next
awakening, Time’s orchestrated dance
across the canvas. Beauty has found her home
amongst the tremors of the heart, spoken
boldly in blue she finds her
fortitude.
Artist Note - "Tremors is a continuation of the original “GO” – which is all about letting GO and embracing the NEXT chapter. This image is about simplicity, letting go of my creative control, trusting my hand to create some artistic “scribbles”. The name “tremors” came to mind. My first intention both in terms of the title and the concept of the poem [and interestingly enough at the same time we had a volcanic eruption in the middle of the ocean which has sent some small tsunamis along the California coast] was about the feelings or emotional “tremors”, the stirrings I’m feeling as I embrace this new year. I have been feeling the rumblings of changes – good changes, perhaps challenging, but good – this is my hope. A song we used to sing in church also came to mind with many of these same sentiments – rumblings, quakes, the upcoming JUBILEE of what God is doing….so I endeavored to write this down. However, as I began to put this into words, a second and third concept came into view- overall, and what I’ve been exploring a lot in the past few months, I wanted to capture the creative process, this time the anticipation of what would eventually be created.
It was the unexpected 3rd idea that surprised me, a remembrance of the struggles faced by many artists, but mostly in regards to my dearest friend VIVA. This is dedicated to her and her story -her struggles with a body that no longer cooperates AND YET as frustrating as I’m sure it’s been (I cannot conceive of it) as an artist to no longer have control over your dexterity of hand, she’s managed to rise above and take on new tools – putting all her experience and talent into creating art – what could have been a defeat for lesser beings, her art is a great FU to negativity. It is a great encouragement to all who face similar experience in one way or another. This is just as much about her and the beauty she’s created, tremors and all, as much as it is about the process and hope in general.
As for the artwork, it is a simple expression – perhaps nothing grand, but a dedication of hope and perseverance for my friend, and all those who share her experiences. May you find blessing in this New Year and many more to come!"
