[CHORUS]
Slow dance,
Romance,
Heartthrob you come to me,
Enraptured
You’ve captured my heart
Forever in love with
Your eyes and Your smile
Your touch drawing me near
Enraptured
You’ve captured my heart
Forever in love with You
"She is Creativity; she is Action; she is the Breathing of Life; she is much more. She is my (Jesus’) Spirit.’
‘And her name, Sarayu?’
‘That is a simple name from one of our human languages. It means ‘Wind,’ a common wind actually. She loves that name.’” (pg. 110 The Shack - A conversation between Mack and Jesus)
Artist Note - "This painting is very personal too me - and quite unexpected, which is ironic as the inspiration for this painting, "Sarayu" is described as a blowing wind, a shifting light hard to grasp. "She" is Creativity - Action. ['The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going (John 3:8)'] As such, it seems fitting that its creation would come out this way and on my birthday [1-18-2022]. I was deeply impacted by the movie and then the book. My interactions with Sarayu have been very much ACTION and CREATIVITY, but also the overwhelming, heart pounding emotions of intimate love - the burning passion expressed beyond words. The wind is also gentle, sweet, PURITY. These lyrics are the last song I wrote while my wife was alive. It was written as a love song both to her and as an expression of intimate love in worship - a time in my life where music, faith, worship, love, creativity mixed with fervent passion. As I look forward to this year, a theme that is emerging is about ACTION, about GOING, moving forward and taking hold of the next chapter of my life. For me, I can't think of a better inspiration for this is SARAYU. I chose the yellow color as LIGHT and BRIGHTNESS - a new day shining and across ii all is this fiery RED streak burning across BODLY and PURPOSEFUL! For me this is an abstract representation of EXCITEMENT - PASSION - MOVEMENT. SARAYU!"
