Artist Note - "As I get deeper into the Special Edition (POP ART) series, I'm finding myself pulling from notable women (real or imagined in popular culture) who I have admired. It is true that Amy Winehouse's story is tragic - succumbing to her addiction at the age of 27. I resonate with her struggles, though my addictive behavior at that age was different, I realize I was just a few bad choices from the same fate. I am fortunate that I had the support to carry me through. It is unfortunate that someone so talented and original has left us."
