Artist Note - "There is a lot to glean from this story. 1) The story challenges me to remember that my ways of thinking, my rules, and my views of the IMPOSSIBLE should not be inflicted on the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE - as the Bible often repeats "His ways are not our ways" - Something brought up in the book THE SHACK: We often when thinking and fearing the future envision a future that doesn't include the Impossible God. As soon as we put him into the equation, the solution changes, creating an atmosphere of peace and hope. 2) The disciples first reaction during the storm when they looked out and saw a man walking across the water was FEAR when confronted with the impossible, even after witnessing all that Jesus had done. It reminds me that I so often forget who HE is and what HE has done. 3) Though Peter had the courage to "challenge the impossible" and step out of the boat, the moment he broke his gaze on the master and looked down and around at the storm tossed waters, he let FEAR ENTER HIS HEART and he began to sink. When I focus on my own strength and understanding, this is when I succumb to fear. BUT when I focus on WHO HE IS in relation to my world, FEAR drifts away to the light of HIS HOPE and LOVE pulls me up out of the mirky depths into LIFE."

Reviewing images for tomorrow’s feature…And so, Ken, true confessions (always a struggle to maintain dispassionate gaze to give as many representation for feature) …minimalism has never been a personal-favorite artform; however, your poem, The Shack quotation, the parabolic metaphor from biblical story…all point to a great unfolding truth now playing out center stage in a numinosity from which a Shifting “Light” will surely emerge. In my humble opinion, this particular painting is brilliant as seen in its collective of visual and backstoried expression. WONDERfully “Present” Art, kudos…:-)
