- "'“It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together...It was like coming home, only to no home I’d ever known..." Her favorite quote from 'Sleepless In Seattle' sailed into the place of her consciousness that was home to the deepest core parts of her. Even as she led him to where "Serendipity", her home away from home for the past few months, was docked, she realized that her real home was here with him. Not her apartment in New York, or even her sailing vessel she had falling in love with again. This is where she belonged. She nestled into him with a contentment and heard him exhale a single word, 'magic'.
He felt something familiar. His brain began searching for a way to paint this moment into a memory he would never forget. 'I knew it the first time I touched her. It was like coming home, only to no home I’d ever known. I was just taking her hand...and I knew it. It was like magic.' He felt the words come to mind, which for him was strange to remember a quote from a movie. Sure, he always had a good anecdote on hand to aid in his business dealings. But a movie? And then it hit him: He remembered identifying with Tom Hank's character, and wondering if he could find love again like Sam had. And here he was with her. 'Yes, Sam, you're right it is... ' he thought to himself, pausing a moment as he felt her body settle into his, "Magic."
They reached the end of their short journey, stopping in front of her boat. Though they were unaware how singular their own thoughts and memories were at this moment, they could feel the truth of it in how easy it was to just 'be' with each other. 'Ready?' she asked stepping onto the deck, offering her hand to him. 'Aye, Aye captain,' he replied jokingly. She grinned, 'Where shall we begin our Maiden Voyage?' She asked, wanting to share with him her love of sailing, but really knew it meant more than just that. This was the beginning for them both. 'Hmm, I hear Seattle's nice this time of year,' They both laughed. Yeah, they knew. MAGIC.
