Dear Ken, poignant…inspired. Check out one fo my favorite books…”Beauty”, by the late, great, (to me- 20th century mystic), John O’Donohue. He has a chapter devoted to “The Beauty of the Wound”. ..lf

Ken Walker replied:

Thank you for sharing this...I'll have to check that out.

Be still, my Heart, that beats so fast to this visage, this symbolism, yet again, so poignant, Ken...and here, the pure, white, bright light aglow, with LIFE - fulfillment of dreams, overcoming setbacks that test us. Thank you ! Every word, a ray of HOPE !! What a gift given, by one who well knows the courage and is therefore deeply qualified to Testify ! Pure!

Ken Walker replied:

To be seen, to be known, to be understood...no greater gift to be given. I'm am therefore a very rich man...thank you dearest friend.

Artist Note - "Taking in the divine beauty all around me, as I often do during my morning walks, I noticed a puddle of rainbow-colored ice cream, vivid and glistening under the sun’s early morning light. Halted in my tracks with the urge to pull out my camera, I took a moment to listen, awaiting for the inevitable message from somewhere deep inside the core of me. Much like “The Fallen” I had painted a week earlier, I knew that this was something important. I took the shot. Waited. I heard the call to action: “Make something beautiful out of tragedy.” My imagination wandered, picturing a little girl or boy, delightfully enjoying the brightly colored treat when misfortune befell the child, and the once coveted multi-colored cream convection now lay spilt on the ground. Tears would almost surely follow, spilling out of a tiny inc...

About Ken Walker

Ken Walker

"There are only two worthwhile things to leave behind when you depart this world of ours - children and art!" - Sunday In The Park With George I've been fortunate to have been blessed with both a beautiful daughter and a talent for music and art. Welcome! They say that a good biography is in the 3rd person - I prefer to be more personal. If you've taken the time to read this, then you deserve something more, something more personal and heartfelt to get to know me as an artist and as a person. To understand the art, it is good to understand the journey the artist takes: The joys and scars along the way. Take a moment to experience my work, and you'll notice a common thread: Hope and Healing. Communicating all I've learned in...
