It seems like an eternity since I was free to roam just beyond the glass paneled doorway that led to a world I no longer recognize. To blame are a few letters and numbers that under any other circumstance would have seemed randomly forced together, but now have meaning, painting images of uncertainty, fear, and loss: COVID-19. I must admit that I struggle not to feel helpless as the governing bodies sworn to protect me make difficult choices about how I get to live my life, taking away basic freedoms for the sake of the greater good.
