New art created for ONLY A FINE DAY's "Edit My Art" contest [11/2021]. Used by permission of Only A Fine Day. Images used: "Open Windows" Finished 11-07-21. Image title is a play on words - the windows to our souls, if open and clear, can allow such wonder and beauty in, shining light to that which we keep hidden in the dark - pains from our past. We hurt. We grieve. But we need not do it alone. By pulling back the shades, the daylight pours in - we become Open Windows to the joy around us, connecting with those that care about us, and eventually find healing from the pain that lies just behind the curtains. Title inspired also by the song of the same title by little known blues singer Murali Coryell -one of my favorite songs by him.

"There are only two worthwhile things to leave behind when you depart this world of ours - children and art!" - Sunday In The Park With George I've been fortunate to have been blessed with both a beautiful daughter and a talent for music and art. Welcome! They say that a good biography is in the 3rd person - I prefer to be more personal. If you've taken the time to read this, then you deserve something more, something more personal and heartfelt to get to know me as an artist and as a person. To understand the art, it is good to understand the journey the artist takes: The joys and scars along the way. Take a moment to experience my work, and you'll notice a common thread: Hope and Healing. Communicating all I've learned in...

Only A Fine Day
Ken, you have a talent for surprising me. Interesting bi-tonal interpretation of "Open Windows". Your poem captures the spirit that moved me to take the picture. I loved how the demolition crew left a whole wall of windows and the way the light so clearly shone through. It amused me that some of the windows were open when the whole building was gone, save the windows, like the ghosts of the building were saying, "Fresh air, anyone?" Best of luck, Ken.
Ken Walker replied:
That made my day :) I needed that....glad I tapped into the spirit of why you took the picture....love windows. That is what drew me to the picture...the beauty and freedom in the midst of chaos.

Thank you for the comment - always so much :)

May you never be "calm" but always burning bright, creation's embers always read to break out the fire of artistic beauty. Too much? LOL
